The Raven Society is the Free Library of Philadelphia’s membership group for supporters in their 20s and 30s. The Raven Society supports and promotes the Library’s mission by contributing supplemental planning and marketing resources to existent Library programming and by developing and hosting additional educational, social, and fundraising activities. In other words, the coolest book club in town. Past selections include Joshua Ferris’s Then We Came to the End, Dave Egger’s What is the What, and most recently – Junot Diaz’s The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao. Meetings take place in the library (or occasionally book-themed restaurants). The group also has a happy hour coming up on January 27th, details TBA.
