Forget the print version of Inquirer

z11

I say we fire the editors of philly.com.

Their latest gallery, “History of Philly Crime“, while fascinating (who knew there was an arsenic gang back in the 1930′s), is obviously just a ploy to get more pics of Drexel hottie Jocelyn Kirsch on their website. (And I really don’t want to click through 90 photos to get that particular one, really. Thumbnails, anyone?)

Philadelphia has had a long history of violent or colorful criminals, from the Arsenic Gang that poisoned or killed 100 people, to Jocelyn Kirsch, the glamorous Drexel student convicted of scamming friends and acquaintances out of more than $100,000 with her beau. Visit the past here and watch for our new Crime Page coming soon.

Seriously, guys. Of all the white collar crimes to include in a gallery of murders, rapists and serial killers.

Jocelyn S. Kirsch – half of Philadelphia’s infamous pair of identity-theft scammers known as “Bonnie and Clyde” – is serving five years in prison. Kirsch, 23, “visited harm on at least 50 victims,” many of them friends and colleagues, a judge said.  Kirsch, a former Drexel student who drew widespread media attention when glamorous photos of her, often in a bikini, were splashed over the Internet. She and her boyfriend, Edward Anderton, stole identity information from friends, coworkers and neighbors and used it to get fake IDs, which they then used to get fraudulent credit cards. They stole more than $116,000 from their victims – and tried to steal about $122,000 more.  Anderton, who graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in economics, Anderton, 25, is serving four years.

Here’s an formula. Hire me. I’ll write you a real story.  Then hire 20 reporters like me. Voila, how’s that for boosting circulation numbers. Ah, what am I saying? It’s a little late for that, PG.

At least Bobby Jindal’s wife is hot

I mean, I don’t think so, but CP readers definitely do. According to them, she’s wayyyy hotter than Governor Ed Rendell’s wife. I say it’s a delayed reaction to Slumdog Millionaire’s Freida Pinto. The Pinto effect? Definitely. Whoda thunk CP readers love Republican women so much? Oh yeah, Ms. Palin.  Hey, at least we have Michelle O.

Check out the Clog post.

This guy is just stupid

Check out this article on Slate.  Timothy Noah wrote an article titled “The Melting-Pot Theory: Why American Muslims don’t blow things up.”

He says:

In the absence of other evidence, we must conclude that inside the United States, homegrown, al-Qaida-inspired terrorist conspiracy-mongering seldom advances very far.

So  the majority of Muslims living in America are so assimilated into the fabric of American society, they have no reason to be angry enough to destroy its internal structure? Because America is soooooo much more comfortable and friendly than Europe? Are you seriously kidding me? I’ve come across too many radical elements of Islam here in the United States to believe that crap. If Osama bin Laden can come from such a modern, wealthy family and turn into a criminal mastermind, any American living in the US can do the same. No questions.

Timothy Noah is an idiot. Just give it a minute, Mr. Noah. American terrorists will catch up.
