Remember a few days ago when I told everyone how cool you would be if you mentored a Philly kid?
Scratch that.
I’m not cool enough, apparently.
Here’s what I was told:
“We would also love to work with you as a mentor; however, we traditionally work with mentors who are 26 years or older and/or who have at least two years of post-bac, full-time professional experience. “
*Sob.
Okay, I get the policy. Naturally one wants young kids to be working with wizened, experienced mentors.
But why are my two years of part-time random jobs TEACHING high school kids not good enough?
I guess I’m just a failure.
But that doesn’t mean you all shouldn’t become mentors! Sign up! They especially are looking for male mentors…..
I’ll just (*sob) live vicariously through you.
