PG regular ThabOOger on why every Californian should be ashamed of Ms. Cali…
Wow. I really hope the contestants in the Miss America pageant aren’t thought of as the official voice of the states they represent.
Thanks for making California look like a bunch of homophobic gay bashing assholes. I’m happy she lost. Not only was she a typical blond Barbie doll clone (no offense but I think California could have done better than this) but her answer was the total opposite of everything Californians are fighting for. Yes we do have out fair share of conservatives but we have way more liberals. Iowa? Seriously? My hats off to you and Vermont.
California?… California?… California?… Bueller?… hmm guess not.
On a lighter note, HAPPY 4/20 to America and the whole world! May all your dreams become legalized!
“Opposite marriage”? What’s that?!
Look at the grimace on her face as soon as he says ‘gay marriage.’
Are you saying that she is homophobic, etc because she elected to be honest in front of the entire country instead of being fake to win a crown?
She was honest regardless of the issue, or CA’s issues.
He acted like a child.
it’s a pageant…does anyone really take these things seriously? bunch of monkeys walking around all dolled up. It’s when they run their mouth that truly shows the quality of people who participate in these competitions. It happens year after year
unfortunately a lot of people take it seriously.
a lot of homophobes are honest.
he acted as a judge. if a judge doesn’t like your answer they will act accordingly.
He asked for her personal opinion and she gave it. Big deal. Are people not allowed to have personal opinions anymore?
I don’t hold the same opinion as her, however, I respect her legal right to voice her opinion, especially when asked for it.
I don’t agree with censorship of opinions just because they are not politically correct.
Honesty is fine. Personal opinions are fine. But do we want a woman who is so awkward a public speaker and so poor at defending her argument representing America? I say not.
She was a bit awkward that’s true. Think about it though, everyone (including the 1o people who watch those shows) are watching and you’re about to give the title away and ignite a firestorm by opting for integrity instead of being fake. I think most of us would may have stumbled a little bit with that one.
On the other hand, the seasoned blogger idiot guy went off like some creep suffering from road rage on the interstate.
Why can’t he be just a guy who has a blog instead of a politico gay guy with an agenda…it’s a pageant, not Meet the Press…what a tart.
my problem is if someone says they are fine with gay people and say they don’t deserve the same rights as everyone else in the same breath is hypocritical. she said she is happy that we live in a country where we have the freedom to choose yet in the same breath she says gay people don’t have the same freedoms as straight people.
i think people misunderstand “freedom of speech”. you can say whatever you want. freedom of speech does not mean freedom from scrutiny.
obviously she didn’t care about the crown that much so why was she even there?
“Personal Opinions are OK people” and BlueRain are correct.
The question here is not about the woman as a Miss USA contestant (it matters) or even gay marriage itself. The question is about telling someone their opinion is wrong and yours is correct. As a matter of fact, her state voted with her opinion, I would say that is democracy.
I happen to believe in same sex marriage, but I also believe in democracy and opinion. People in the audience also agree with her, are they all bad people? (try and judge them, you’ll be committing your own “sin”)
It’s this childish feet stomping, finger in the ears attitude that disallows rational debate.
I’d tell Hilton to suck it, but that would only get him excited.
Actually it was a bunch of conservative groups (with major funding from the Mormon church in Utah) that distorted the issue which eventually led to the passing of Prop 8. Tricking the public into thinking that if same sex marriage was legalized then everyone would become gay. or that people would start marrying thier pets. or that churches would be forced to conduct same sex marriages at gun point or risk being sued. or that teachers would force the gay agenda on thier students.
Blatant lies and double talk. And don’t get me wrong i love my country but from what iv seen the general American public are mindless drones believing everything they are told once religion is brought to the picture.
But just as she had the right to say what she wanted. The judges had the right to score her how they wanted. i agree this topic gets distorted very quickly but when the smoke clears its quite obvious that banning a certain demographic from getting married is unconstitutional.
I wouldn’t say people that disagree with same sex are bad, (in my opinion good and bad are relative terms) but i would say they are selfish and obviously brainwashed by religion and thier right wing conservative agenda.
miss California is a prime example of this from what iv seen on fox news lately. Its not her own opinion that she spouted out. it was her parents opinion that they singed into her brain.
but u guess we all can agree to disagree on this one.
