If you hang out in University City, or you’re tired of fighting for spare outlets to plug in your laptop in Center City coffee shops, head straight to the Market El and don’t stop until you get to 40th Street. A block away from the El is the newly opened, completely refurbished Lovers & Madmen Coffee Lounge. It’s a lovely, airy space, accentuated by cobalt blue paint, a large wall mirror and casement windows.
Why do I hang out there? Gracious, friendly staff that help you with your selection and then leave you alone to do your coffee shop thing. Computer-friendly tables with many floor outlets. There’s even a little table for the kid in your life, so feel free to bring ‘em along.
Plus, they serve goods from my favorite cafe back home, Under the Oak Cafe. Now I don’t have to go to East Oak Lane to get cinnamon knots. (No worries, Kelly, I’ll be back this summer.)
