We were at the Kimmel Center last night for their annual “solstice” thingie. There was a “Bollywood dance lesson” (which was really a Bhangra lesson), where the dance instructors had like 500 non-South Asian people doing bhangra moves in Perelman theater.

So this might indeed be the summer of Punjabi music.

To your question, we went to a dance night called “Dutty Chutney” at Fluid a few weeks ago, where they played a lot of Bhangra mixed in with Caribbean dance hall. We liked the no-attitude vibe… Worth checking out (once every three weeks on Friday night).
